More than a million people gathered this August to witness the seven day long USA Pro Cycling Challenge in its inaugural year. The 500-mile race through the state of Colorado saw 135 of the world’s best cyclists test their skills against each other. An economic survey that came out this week suggested that this sporting event raked in a whooping economic surplus for the state in the amount of $85.3 million.
